I've seen rec requests for this trope before on other blogs, so I know people want to read these fics (and so do I!) The thing is, there aren't yet a whole lot of ABO fics written for the Harry/Draco pairing. Indeed, many of the ones I know of are werewolf fics (see yesterday's rec post). But these are my favorites of the non-werewolf ones I've read so far.

Summary: Harry goes into heat unexpectedly. Malfoy stakes his claim. Contains bonding, knotting and Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics (and the dub-con inherently implied).

Wow :) This fic is rather a guilty pleasure, because it's off-the-charts hot, and the premise is insane. If you're familiar with ABO dynamics, you'll know what to expect, but this author takes all the tropes to eleven:

Animalistic behavior? Check.
Marking? Check.
Knotting? Check.
Marathon sex? Like you wouldn't believe.
Gender Essentialism? Yup.
D/s? Check, and then some.
Possessiveness? Check-check-check checkety-check.
Mpreg? mention of, but not actually in-story

And yet, somehow, the author still manages to ground this story in the HP universe. It's set in an AU 6th year, but the plot is clearly informed by all seven books, offering an alternate version of how the ultimate showdown with Voldemort could go down which doesn't seem so wildly implausible. If you like smut with plot, you'll like this fic.

Summary: Everything in Harry's life is pretty terrible, all things considered. His ex-wife won't stop sleeping around, the government is broken, and his life is an endless cycle of crippling self-hatred and bitter sarcasm. So when Draco Malfoy comes sauntering back into it, sharp as a tack and twice as fit as he has any right to be, the only comfort Harry can find is that he can't possibly make it any worse. You know, probably.

This fic is blisteringly, scorchingly, hot. And while it's not technically ABO, it may as well be - the attraction between Harry and Draco shares many characteristics of the trope, including mpreg!Draco. The fic also has a rather fascinating plot with unique concepts of pure-blood politics and economics, which makes it a captivating read all around.

For the past several years after the war Harry has been shamefully neglecting his fortune, and it's Draco's job to teach Harry how to manage his funds so that he won't continue to have a negative impact on wizarding economy. But when Harry and Draco meet they are instantly and overwhelmingly attracted to each other. Yet for all that he can barely keep his hands off of Draco, Harry still doesn't trust him, and is still dealing with his own demons from the past. He ends up insulting Draco in a deeply personal way, and has no idea how much he hurt and humiliated him. In a completely amazing scene it is Lucius Malfoy (!) who against all odds is the voice of reason. (I loved that scene--Lucius is still in character, still as haughty and condescending as ever, yet he manages to get Harry to see what a jerk he has been and to get the help he needs). So: cool plot + astounding hotness = win!

Summary: After returning to Hogwarts after the war, Harry realizes he has nothing to do. There is nothing to chase, or to fight. Why, then does he feel as if there is something pricking under his skin? And why does it feel like he’s struck by lightning every time Draco Malfoy touches him? There’s only one explanation: Draco Malfoy is up to something, and Harry has to find out what it is and put a stop to it.

This was super hot and sexy and very fun. I liked that when Harry was hurt by thinking Draco wanted him as a brood mare that they talked about it like rational people and didn't go all cliche silent treatment. And I loved the dirty talk and the concept of soul mates and how it was done.

Summary: In his father's world of staunch traditions and strict gender dynamics, presenting as an omega is the worst thing that could happen to Draco, although accidentally bonding to Harry Potter and being forced into a marriage with Antonin Dolohov both come in close second.

Good and moving and hot too. No knotting (which I don't need with my ABO, so I'm fine with that) but there are scenes with Draco/Dolohov which are a bit disturbing. Harry rescues him though!
