Who are the Drarry Veterans?

Because I'm curious about these things, I wondered which authors had been writing Drarry for the longest time. There have been literally thousands of Drarry fanfic authors over the years (not kidding: I've got over a thousand names in my database alone). So in order to find an answer to this question I decided to limit my results by these requirements:
So who did I come up with using these restrictions?
* the original link to
mab's early fic "Best Two Out of Three" is locked. But here's a screenshot for anyone who'd like to see the evidence :)
My database is large but not infinite. Any omissions are unintentional - if you know of an author who should be on this list who I didn't include, please let me know ASAP!
Keep in mind:
- The author should have published their first Drarry fic before Deathly Hallows came out on July 21, 2007
I needed some cut-off date to start with, and this seemed as reasonable a way to limit the list as any - Authors should still be currently writing Drarry
What this means for me is that an author will have published at least one new Drarry fic since May 1, 2014 (i.e. approximately in the last year) - Authors should have written at least five Drarry fics in this time period
I included this restriction because there were a few authors in my database who happened to have written one early Drarry and another one more recently but who usually write for other fandoms or ships. It didn't feel as comparable to the other authors on this list who had been more dependably Drarry/HP focused.
So who did I come up with using these restrictions?

Keep in mind:
- You might be wondering where
faithwood and
who_la_hoop are on this list. So far as I can tell, they published their first Drarry fics after DH came out. If I'm wrong about that, I would love to know it!
- If an author has currently written a fic which is still anonymous for a fest, I can't know that, so I couldn't factor that in. I'm sorry if that means I left anyone off this list. Let me know after reveals, and I'll fix it.
- Co-authorship sometimes messes up my search results (for *reasons*) so if an author co-authored early fics I might not have realized it and may have missed them in my search. Let me know and I'll add them in!
- If an author's early fics aren't dated, then I can't know when they were published and so couldn't include them in my search. Please try to verify dates for me if you think I've missed someone. (Oh hey, another reason dates matter :)

Date: 2015-06-06 10:06 pm (UTC)I was going to title the middle column "Earliest fic" but I soon realized that I couldn't possibly know for sure which fic was an author's earliest, as I haven't scoured every archive and blog. So I just called it "Early fic example" since all I needed was one example of a fic published before DH to make my point :)
But if you can find me a link to your earliest fic, I'd be happy to edit the chart!
And you are special ♥

Date: 2015-06-06 10:12 pm (UTC)And you're another author who I had to go back and double-check my data on. The earliest fic I know for you is "Summer of the Dragonfly" which was published May 2008. I was worried I missed something earlier and should have included you in the chart.
Let me know if I made any mistakes!

Date: 2015-06-06 10:29 pm (UTC)No kidding about the sheer mass of Drarry goodness! There are SO MANY fics on my "to read" list and so many more still coming out that I think I may never read all that I planned to.
But this is a good problem to have :)

Date: 2015-06-06 10:41 pm (UTC)There were several one shots but my first novel length was The Hush Of War and the prequel to that which began in 2005 and 2006.

Date: 2015-06-06 10:50 pm (UTC)Fortunately you had also published "Men Who Had Mothers" before DH came out, so I could use that one for reference.
When you get a chance (and aren't still limited by being on your phone) I'd love it if you could send me a link to where I can find the first publication of "Hush of War".
Thanks!

Date: 2015-06-06 10:43 pm (UTC)"Comfort" is from 2009, though - I simply use December 2005 to store all my chapter index pages. If you ever look at chaptered fics of mine, make sure to check chapter 1 for the date.
My earliest (and not very good at all) Drarry is Saving Angel, which is indeed from 12/2005.

For some reason the site updates over the years have made weird changes to the formatting (line numbers) and the post date isn't showing, but if you look at the first comment, you'll see it was left 9 years ago.
Great list!

Date: 2015-06-06 11:35 pm (UTC)The only thing I can think of is that I generally don't have very many WIPs in my database (it's just a quirk of mine - I prefer to include just fics that have been completed, unless it's a WIP that's abandoned and everyone claims needs to be read anyway). So I'm not sure if this would open a can of worms - like maybe there are other authors I should have included who have updated WIPs in the last year.
Hmmm. It's a poser. I'm thinking that if she's actively writing HD again, then she should be included, but if she just found an old chapter on her hard drive and dusted it off and posted it, then maybe not? Jeez, I dunno!

Thanks and sorry!

Date: 2015-06-07 12:10 am (UTC)Some authors are easier to track than others. Like, zeitgeistic on AO3 is always clearly identified as having also written under faire_weather, which means I know to look for that. It's when authors change names but don't advertise it that it gets tricky! (create_serenity is another one who changed from Sivany, and her AO3 account also makes this clear. AO3 is great for finding pseuds!)
It's very possible that I may have missed an author who has changed names, and if so I would be very happy to have someone let me know so I can include them :)

Date: 2015-06-08 05:42 am (UTC)So for
I did notice that she had recently posted a new HP ficlet which is listed as Harry/Lucius Harry/Draco, which is a tough call. For me, I'm not into multiple pairings in a fic, and I don't think of this sort of multiple pairing fic as truly "Drarry" (no judgement on the preferences of others, this is just how I label things). So I'm not sure!
The most recent fic I know of for

Date: 2015-08-25 06:54 pm (UTC)Also I'm impressed you noticed the link between my ff.net account and my LJ account, I'm not sure anyone else had, although since I recently tied them together through my AO3 username and by cross posting a lot more I guess it's more obvious than it used to be, so maybe other people have noticed too. I tried to keep them separate for years and recently decided I didn't care any more. (That early fic is just terrible though - how embarrassing!)
Anyway a very awesome post, I'm definitely going to try to go back and read some of the earlier ones again and see how many I recognise.
