Another all-time-favorite trope of mine is characters being forced to tell the truth. Awkward confessions and embarrassment FTW! In the world of HP, this is usually accomplished through the use of veritaserum, though sometimes we get unusual curses instead. It's all good :)

I love veritaserum fics, and this one is done so well. Here it's part of a standard training exercise that ends up outing Harry before he's ready, and to a wizarding world that isn't particularly supportive - it's only been a year since the battle and he's supposed to be a role model after all. And it doesn't help that as part of this training exercise he and Malfoy have had to act as romantic partners under a bond spell, so Malfoy is inadvertently pulled into the drama as well. Harry's frustration and embarrassment are palpable, as are his confusing and conflicting feelings about Malfoy. It's a beautiful and sweet story about the awkwardness of coming out in the public eye and going for what you really want.

Summary: This entire fic is one long conversation about sex.

Holy dancing house-elves people, this is hot. Truth-serum induced dirty talk. Wow. The use of veritaserum is consensual; it allows Draco and Harry say the things they would be too embarrassed to say to each other otherwise. And despite what the summary seems to imply, this isn't just PWP. Lettered somehow brings relevant canon elements into this incredibly kinky conversation, making Harry and Draco feel so much in character. Amazing fic.

Summary: Draco is angry and unsettled after a brief sexual encounter with Harry Potter. Harry cannot be found, but Draco's Slytherin housemates want to know what's going on.

This story is a terrific continuation of I'll Show You Mine by nursedarry. You probably don't have to read the original fic, but I definitely recommend it. In the first fic, Harry and Draco have an unexpected sexual encounter while trapped together during a school assignment. In the sequel, Pansy and Blaise are determined to learn what happened, and dose Draco with veritaserum to get him to spill. And like all great veritaserum fics, it leads to some extremely hot confessions. Loved how connected to canon this was, and how well the story continued.

Summary: It was just supposed to be a night out. Harry absolutely didn't plan on admitting his feelings for Malfoy.

If it's not clear by now, veritaserum might just be my all-time favorite trope in fanfic, and firethesound does such a great job with it here. Harry is harboring a secret crush on his fellow Auror trainee, and as you can guess, ends up publicly admitting it in a most mortifying way. Happily, Draco doesn't mind at all and is quite sweet and endearing about rectifying Harry's embarrassment. Yum!

Summary: Harry never thought taking a job as Draco Malfoy's bodyguard was going to be easy. Add in a curse that makes Malfoy even more of an obnoxious git than usual, and Harry's got serious problems.

So entertaining! Draco has been cursed to tell the truth, and hires Harry as his bodyguard until whoever did this to him is found. We see Draco using his wits to avoid saying revealing things around Harry - shading and bending the truth but never lying - while Harry goes on blithely unaware of how much of his feelings Draco is hiding. Of course, even Harry can't stay oblivious forever :) Fun, funny, hot and sweet.

Summary: When Draco loses his reserve and starts speaking his mind, Harry realises something is very wrong.

Good and fun! Getting to hear Draco's inner thoughts on Harry's arse was delightful, and Harry's reaction was the best - taking immediate advantage of the situation, which was pretty hot. And the other things Draco spouted out actually gave nice insights into his character.

Summary: One of those fics where Draco is walking around innocently and is all: Lalala, and then suddenly he finds a naked Harry Potter tied to his bed. An eighth year fic.

Oh so fun :) Ron and Hermione are tired of waiting for Harry and Draco to finally figure out they want each other, so they use kidnapping, bondage, and veritaserum to move things along. What great friends!
